SIR - Your story about foreign workers being exploited may show that a minority are exploited. The item is surprising because it suggested there is an shameful epidemic of exploitation and yet the Citizens Advice Bureau claimed they were seeing "one to two" cases per month.
But despite your editorial suggesting that Britain has been substantially developed through foreign labour, I would suggest that our open-door policy to immigrant labour from the EU is a disaster that is unfolding by the day.
Next year, Romania and Bulgaria join, and of thousands, if not millions of people will seek to come here over time.
Our small island is not being enriched by the escalating influx. On the contrary, it is a drain on the infrastructure of housing, health and social services, and a host of others areas. It will create political crisis.
ANDREW BROWN,
Worcester.
