SIR – What a shame that parents took their children to look at captive reptiles which are not native to this country ‘Children enjoy a brush with nature’ (Worcester News, December 29).
It would have been nice if the children had been taken for a walk in the fresh air to look at British flora and fauna and birds and creatures in the wild.
Being kept in captivity in a tank is no life for a reptile.
Most reptiles carry salmonella bacteria.
The Department of Health issued a warning that children under five, pregnant women, the elderly and anyone immunocompromised should avoid contact with reptiles.
