SIR – I am a little confused about Councillor [Alan] Amos’s anti-fox hunting letter (Worcester News, January 6).

Even though I do agree with what Mr Amos has to say here; wasn’t it he who proposed that seagulls were to be culled for causing noise and havoc around a certain fast food outlet on the Elgar Retail Park? (Worcester News, September 9).

He also condoned it as okay for a man to kick a seagull in his letter to the Worcester News on August 16.

Animal cruelty and pest control seems to be high on the agenda for Coun Amos, and yet he is against fox hunting?

If other local councillors in rural towns and cites are as confused and contradictive as Mr Amos, then what hope do we have of a modern, lawabiding society?
