SIR – How woefully illinformed city councillor Alan Amos is regarding his views on hunting (Worcester News, January 6).
The antiquated, long-held belief that hunting is for “toffs” is completely inaccurate.
Having hunted myself – I’m a lowly operating theatre nurse – I can happily inform Mr Amos that hunt followers, far from being landed gentry and the like, are in fact normal people such as himself.
I have never found myself among such a mixed bag of folk as you will find among the hunting community, from all walks of life and backgrounds. All are made welcome, regardless.
Poor Mr Amos. I can recommend a good shoulder surgeon if you’d like that chip removing. It’s so reassuring to see that we’re electing well-informed, unbiased individuals to council office.
