It’s a funny old world – and not a fair one

SIR – I believe that I am a pretty ordinary English bloke. Alas, I am in God’s waiting room as far as my age goes. My history is unremarkable. I had a newspaper round at 13 and started full-time work at 15.

I did not go away for holidays, instead I picked plums and apples to get money for my first motorbike. I did national service (I wanted to be sent abroad but it did not happen) and got married.

To pay off the mortgage I did part-time driving jobs as well as full-time jobs (we worked shifts). I am now retired and living on state pension and a work pension.

Guess what? A Romanian gipsy illegal immigrant is taking home (from us the English taxpaying mugs) more than I get. Please tell me where I go to vote?

1) Gypsy.
2) Illegal immigrant.
3) Benefits.

House!

It sounds as if B Peplow has had a fulfilling life so far.
If only he'd stop buying the Daily Mail he might get to enjoy the rest of it.

My thoughts exactly, Saturn. Still, I'm sure Mr Peplow can back up his figures.
