What sort of bus ‘service’ is this?

SIR – Yet again First bus in Worcester has let me down.

The incident in the morning of Monday, January 30, was a new low in the ‘service’ offered by First.

I got on the bus at Blackpole intending to travel to my stop on the number 35 bus route.

However, the bus driver decided he wasn’t going to take the proper route and promptly missed out both Tetbury Drive and Cranham Drive. I asked the driver where we were going and was told rather shortly that “mistakes happen”.

He said he would not be turning round to take the correct route. He then told me to get off the bus halfway down Langdale Drive when I said again he had missed out numerous stops.

As well as having a cat in tow, I am also the holder of a disabled person’s bus pass so this diversion was most disconcerting.

The 35 bus route is supposed to go every eight minutes at peak time, yet we often have to wait 25-30 minutes for a bus.

Sometimes three go down Cranham Drive and yet only two come back up Cranham Drive.

Is this drivers trying to make up time by missing out stops and sailing down Windermere Drive, I wonder?
