SIR – I would like to answer the letter by J L Reynolds (Worcester News, May 29) in which he asks which building would be chosen by the people if either The Hive or Worcester Cathedral had to be demolished. How could you compare our beautiful cathedral to the Hive? Our cathedral has been here for hundreds of years, thousands of people have had the pleasure of visiting it and seeing the great architecture and the magnificent structure.

There are lots of things always going on in the cathedral. Visitors come from all over the world come to see it. The Hive has nothing to compare with the cathedral. I am sure the cathedral will be here for hundreds more years, long after the Hive has gone.

I am sure many of the people of Worcester feel the same.

There are many places for young people to get educated but only one cathedral. It stands proud in the middle of our city for all to see. We must preserve it, whatever the future brings. So I would choose the Hive to be demolished if there had to be a choice.
