SIR – I think it’s outrageous that the unions are asking for big bonuses for the bus drivers and train drivers during the Olympics because they will be working harder.
This is wrong. I’d call it blackmail and it’s holding the public to ransom.
Surely the unions must have learned something from the 80s from the miners’ strikes and British Leyland strikes?
Where are they now? Gone.
The bus companies should start taking on extra staff not connected to the unions and London should start thinking about driverless trains in the underground – they work in Paris.
