I didn’t get to thank my Good Samaritan

SIR – May I through your letters page thank my knight in shining armour.

Myself and my friend had just returned from a day out in Gloucester and Cheltenham.

When I was alighting the train at Worcester Shrub Hill station I lost my balance and fell on to the platform.

Despite station staff being on the platform no one came to me except a gentleman who my friend tells me was called Derek and we think he is a nurse.

After giving me first aid to my knees, hands and a small cut under my eye from my broken glasses, he very kindly arranged a taxi to take me and my friend home, but sadly we never got the chance to thank him as I was in such a state.

So if there is anyone in the Worcester area who knows this gentleman, please thank him for me, he certainly restored my faith in the human race.

MARY SADLER
