Students contribute much to community

SIR – I wonder what evidence the Worcester traders have for such a damning and disappointing view of students.
Having taught university students for 20 years I know that the majority work hard at their studies, often work in part time jobs to help fund those studies and still find time to carry out various fund raising and charity activities.
There is much to be gained by repopulating our city centres and students, like anyone else, will contribute to their community. Perhaps the wider picture should be considered and a little less ‘tunnel’ vision applied!
