Look, Mr Blair, we don’t want you back

SIR – Tony Blair is attempting a comeback in Britain.

After editing the Evening Standard, he appeared alongside Ed Miliband at a dinner to promote British sport at the Arsenal Emirates Football Stadium.

Thankfully, there are people who have longer memories than certain journalists who seem determined to rehabilitate Blair’s image.

He was due to do a fundraiser with Tessa Jowell MP but after much lobbying and the threat of a protest the event was postponed.

Let’s hope that people will continue to remind Blair – responsible for leading the country into an illegal war that led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people – that he is not welcome here and ought to be on trial for war crimes in the Hague.
