WALKING on water will soon be a reality thanks to the launch of a novel fitness idea.

Staff at Worcester’s Sansome Walk swimming pool have invested in a number of water walkers and are planning to hold Saturday afternoon sessions to let people have a go.

Leisure in the Community funded the human hamster balls in the hope that they will encourage more youngsters to use the pool’s facilities.

Dan Eaton, the pool’s operations manager, said he hoped the water walkers will encourage people to try aquatic fitness.

“They are pretty good fun. It’s a good way to get kids involved in swimming and in aquatic activity.”
