A WOMAN has been charged with assisting the attempted suicide of another person after another woman was seriously injured after falling from a railway bridge.

The 28-year-old woman is due to appear before Worcester magistrates today.

The victim, who is also in her 20s, remains in a serious condition at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham after falling from the from the railway bridge on the A449 Worcester Road next to Malvern Link station on Wednesday.

Following the incident, a woman from the Malvern area was arrested by West Mercia Police and taken to Worcester Police Station for questioning.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the incident and want to talk to anyone who was at Malvern Link Railway Station at the relevant time or on Worcester Road and noticed unusual activity on the railway bridge.

Last night, rush-hour commuters were questioned by officers as they conducted anniversary checks at the station in a bid to find out more information.

People on the platform were spoken to as they waited for their trains and passengers were stopped as they left the station after disembarking.
