RIVER levels will continue to rise until this afternoon, reports this morning suggest.
Last night, the Environment Agency said it expected the river Severn to peak first thing, but the flood warning updates predict this will not happen until early afternoon today.
At 6.30am, the level at the Diglis gauge in Worcester was 4.67 metres and rising slowly. A peak level of between 4.7 metres and 4.8 metres is expected to occur this afternoon.
Hood Street, Quay Street, Pitchcroft Lane, Waterworks Road, and Newport Street, Worcester, Croft Road and Diglis Dock Road could all be affected by flooding.
The level at the Worcester gauge measured 5.05 metres and was rising slowly at 6.30am.
A peak level of between 5 metres and 5.15 metres is expected to occur this afternoon, and Pitchcroft Lane, Waterworks Road, and Newport Street could also be affected by flooding.
In Upton, water at the Saxons Lode gauge had reached 5.19 metres and was steady. It is set to peak level of between 5.3 metres and 5.35 metres this afternoon.
The level at the Kempsey Severn gauge was 6.87 metres and rising slowly.
