WITNESSES are being sought to an aggravated burglary at a house near Droitwich.

Three men broke into the rear of a property in Forest Lane, Hanbury, on Tuesday at about 6.30pm before threatening a couple in their 30s, forcing them to hand over a large quantity of cash that was kept at the home.

All three, who entered via neighbouring fields and went to an upstairs bedroom where the occupants were watching television, had their faces covered.

They made off across country towards Broad Acre Fishery, where it is believed they drove off in a waiting vehicle in the car park.

Detective Sergeant Pete Sherwood said: "This was a nasty and brazen attack on someone's home and we have launched an investigation into who is responsible.

"We would like to appeal for anyone to get in touch who saw any suspicious activity or vehicles in Hanbury, particularly along Forest Lane and at Broad Acre Fishery in the early evening yesterday, between 5pm and 7pm.

"Considering how wet it has been of late and that these men approached and left the house over fields, it is very likely they would have been covered in mud."

Anyone with information should call police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 192N 27/11/12, or Crimstoppers on 0800 555 111.
