A THRILLING day of storytelling was enjoyed by students at Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College in Worcester.
The school in Timberdine Avenue was visited by children’s author John Townsend, who has written more than 100 books.
He talked to year seven and eight pupils about his latest adventure novel Crash Dive and his new “unusual” detective story Never Odd or Even.
Mr Townsend also entertained pupils with a host of tales – some fact, some fiction – and other urban myths.
The author, who writes both fiction and non- fiction, and specialises in writing for reluctant readers, said: “Reading unlocks your imagination like nothing else and imagination can change the world.”
Linda Bromyard, college librarian and organiser of the event, said: “John always inspires the pupils and his books are very popular.
“The pupils enjoyed speaking to him and gaining insight into his books and writing.”
