PENGUINS, reindeer and tinsel were all popular choices for a Christmas jumper day at Pitmaston Primary School, in St John's, Worcester.

Pupils and staff dressed up in festive outfits in aid of Save the Children and their efforts raised £481.78 for the charity.

Across town  babies also donned jumpers featuring snowmen, penguins and Father Christmas to raise money for the worthy cause.

Twelve mums and little ones from the Mission2Mum Club managed to raise £90 for Save the Children.

They joined in the Christmas Jumper Day by wearing their favourite festive knits to the meeting at Bindles brasserie, based in Sidbury, Worcester.

As well as donating money to wear their jumpers, they also held a raffle with prizes donated by Worcester businesses.

Organiser Gemma Guscott said: “It was a really good event and Bindles were fantastic. The babies were able to play while we enjoyed coffee and mince pies.” Anyone who wants more information should e-mail gemma@mission2mum. co.uk or log on to www.mission2mum.
