A JURY has yet to reach a verdict in the trial of a self-confessed transvestite accused of raping a transsexual he had met during a night-out at a Worcester pub.

Barry Dearlove pleaded not guilty at Worcester Crown Court to forcing himself on a pre-operative transsexual at her Worcester flat.

The pair had been at the Brewery Tap pub in Lowesmoor, before returning home in the early hours in May last year.

Dearlove, aged 32, of South Park Avenue, Didcot, Oxon, was on a vist to Worcester to meet other members of the trans-gender fraternity.

His alleged victim, who was born a man but was waiting for a gender operation, said she rejected his amorous advances.

He claimed there was no violent assault during an incident in the bathroom but that he had indulged only in kissing and cuddling.

The jury of five women and seven men was out for five hours before being sent away to resume their deliberations tomorrow.
