A MAN has been airlifted to hospital after a sledging accident in Worcestershire.

The man in his 40s was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital after the accident on Bredon Hill at Overbury, near Pershore.

He had suffered neck, back and chest injuries.

The ambulance service reminded people to take a second to stop and think before sledging in dangerous places.

40 years and they still have not grow up i feel sorry for all the A=E staff that are trying to get in to work for people with life threatening conditions like heart attacks and they have to deal with these idiots i am shaw they are going through there second child hood. give the nurses a break

really some people!!!, does it not occur to you that mothers and fathers go out sledging and enjoying the snow with their young children, spending quality, family time together in the snow, having fun and making memories, accidents happen!, that's life, if they didn't then those paramedics and a&e staff wouldn't have jobs!!! I just hope that this man is ok and recovers fully and quickly xx

Yes and if most of the grown ups who suffered heart attacks were out sledging and being active then they probably wouldn't have the heart attacks....

Hundreds of thousands of people country wide enjoy sledging (or tobogganing in certain circles), and one or two may possibly hurt themselves! If you haven't tried it, try it - it is fun for all the family! But beware because the elf and safety man cometh - next year we may well need armour plated sledges and a certificate of incompetance! :-)
