THE owners of jewellery of sentimental value are appealing for help in tracing their belongings.

Detectives are linking four break-ins carried out last month in Worcester, Malvern and Droitwich, during which thieves stole rings, bracelets and necklaces.

Pictures have been released of some of the items in a bid to reunite them with their owners.

Between 7am and 7pm on Thursday, January 24, burglars targeted a house in Fruitlands, Malvern, and entered via a rear patio door.

A large amount of jewellery was stolen including a collection of Welsh Clogau jewellery, as were a white Sony Vaio laptop, two Nokia mobile telephones and a Nikon camera.

Footmarks in the snow showed someone had climbed over a garden wall.

Thieves stole a large amount of jewellery between Thursday, January 24, and Sunday, January 27, from a house in Clydesdale Close, Droitwich, Between Thursday, January 24, and Saturday, January 26, a house in Columbia Drive, Worcester, was entered via the rear kitchen door and jewellery was stolen.

Earlier in the month, burglars broke into a house in Hastings Road, Malvern, by a rear patio door between 4pm and 6pm on Sunday, January 13, but nothing was stolen.

DC Pete Ryland of Worcester CID, who is investigating the burglaries, said: “It is always worse when a victim of burglary has something stolen that is precious to them for sentimental reasons.

“We are releasing images of pieces of jewellery stolen from two of the burglaries, from Fruitlands in Malvern and Clydesdale Close in Droitwich, in the hope someone may recognise some of the items.

“If you have been seen these items for sale or have been offered them in suspicious circumstances, please get in touch and help us reunite these pieces with their owners.

“If you are an owner of jewellery, please take photos of your pieces and, if the worst happens and they are stolen, it makes it easier for us to identify any stolen items when we recover them.”

Anyone with information should call DC Ryland on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting reference numbers 506s 24/01/13 or Clydesdale Close 491s 27/01/13.
