A LITTER pick has left part of Worcester looking spruce thanks to the efforts of a fantastic foursome who braved the big freeze.

Councillor Neil Laurenson, who represents St Stephen ward, was part of a team of four who got their hands dirty as they cleaned up land in Perdiswell Park, Wordsworth Avenue and Bilford Road.

He noticed the area was in need of a good tidy-up when he was out on an earlier walk. The team between them filled two bags with recycling rubbish and three with general rubbish.

Coun Laurenson said the pick lasted about an hour but there was still more work to do and he would be more than willing to take part in more clean-ups in future. He said: “It was chucking it down and freezing. But I would do it again. It’s an eyesore and there’s still litter out there.”
