THE NEW sensory room of a charity for children with disabilities was officially opened by Worcester's Lord Lieutenant.
Lt Col Patrick Holcroft visited New Hope on Wells Road, Ronkswood to open the new £8,000 room.
He met with parents and staff at the charity and was given a tour of the site before opening the sensory room.
Founder Jean Wilson said: "He was introduced to parents who use our services and chatted to staff.
"He was very, very gracious and a very nice chap."
She said children were enjoying the new facilities which included a water bed, optical illusion tunnel and ultraviolet projectors.
"It is a lovely new area which the children enjoy using.
"They absolutely love it. It's been one of the best things we have ever created and it has proved really beneficial to them."
