THREE thieves dropped packets of fireworks as they were disturbed at a business in St John's.

The men took three packs of fireworks from a wall display inside a shop at about 10pm on Tuesday (October 14).

Fortunately, they were disturbed and dropped the packets outside the building as they made off on foot towards Henwick Road.

They were described as three white men in their late teens.

One has a slim build and is about 5'10" tall.

He was wearing a light grey hooded top with the hood up, dark coloured bottoms and dark trainers.

The second has a slim build and was wearing a black hooded jacket with a white logo on the rear of the right shoulder, dark trousers and dark shoes.

The third is shorter with a stocky build and was wearing a dark grey hooded top with a blue t-shirt underneath and dark bottoms.

A police spokesperson said: “We are reminding people to ensure their properties are secure by preventing access being gained by locking doors and accessible windows.

"You may want to join your local Neighbourhood Watch scheme to meet those living in your street, pass on crime prevention advice and resolve local issues."

Anyone who witnessed the burglary or anything suspicious at the time should call the non-emergency police number 101, quoting incident 0642 of 14th October 2014.
