MEMBERS of Worcester Cathedral Voluntary Choir celebrated the end of their 140th Anniversary year celebrations with a trip to London on Tuesday.

The choir sang carols on the balcony of the world-famous Piccadilly store, Fortnum and Mason.

Before arriving at the store for the early evening performance, younger members of the choir spent the afternoon in Hyde Park, including an hour on the ice at the Winter Wonderland Ice Rink.

The choir ends the year with a service of Christmas music and readings in Worcester Cathedral on Sunday, starting at 4pm.

Justin Miller, choir director, said: “This has been a fantastic year for the choir and although extremely busy for the choristers it has been very enjoyable for them all. Plans are already in hand for events in 2015, which also includes singing at various venues around the country. We will also be producing a short video just before Christmas which will be available on the choir’s Facebook page as a taster for our full video showing the work of the choir which will be ready during next year”
