A MAN who was brutally assaulted in an attack outside a Worcester pub has regained consciousness.

The 46-year-old from Pershore was rushed to hospital after he was attacked by two men outside The Bell in St John’s at about 10.20pm on Friday, December 19.

During the attack the victim was struck in the head and fell to the ground, where he was attacked by another man. He suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to hospital.

He later regained consciousness and was moved to Coventry’s Walgrove Hospital on Tuesday, December 23., where he is said to be in a serious, but not critical condition

Two 20-year-old men from Worcester have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and have been bailed pending further enquiries to return to Worcester Police Station on Thursday, February 19 2015.

In the meantime police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the attack.

The first attacker was described as a white man and was about 6ft 4in tall, of skinny build with short slightly wavy hair and was missing a tooth. He was wearing entirely black clothing.

The second man is described as in his early twenties with short hair and a wispy beard. He was wearing a white jumper with black trousers.

Police have said they believe many people were in the area at the time of the attack and have appealed for anyone who saw the incident to contact them on 101 quoting incident 771-s-191214.
