A GROUP of students from a Worcester school will be visiting a series of London attractions later this month – without ever leaving their home city.

The King’s School students are taking part in a charity climbathon at the Vertical Limit indoor climbing wall in Shrub Hill in aid of Sight Concern Worcestershire on Sunday, March 22.

The team are hoping to raise £2,000 for the charity at the event, which is themed around the landmarks of London, with each of the 10 metre routes representing one of the capitals such as Big Ben and The Shard.

The charity’s fundraising manager Fiona Blake said the team of four lower sixth form students had already raised £700 with more coming in.

“Their fantastic efforts are especially welcome this year as we’ve been hit by funding cuts,” she said.

“We can only continue our work helping blind and partially sighted people to lead independent and fulfilling lives in Worcestershire with the help of generous donations and activities such as these.”
