HUNDREDS of visitors have visited Worcester's newest arrivals - two newly hatched peregrine falcon chicks.
Two of the four eggs laid by a rare peregrine falcon in Worcester hatched on Saturday and Sunday in their specially-constructed nest at the top of St Andrews spire in Deansway.
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) has set up a marquee at the base of the spire where visitors can find out more about the birds and the charity, and watch the birds through binoculars and via a live nest camera.
Ross Lawford, peregrine officer for the RSPB, said more than 400 people had visited the marquee over the two days, despite the unpredictable weather.
"The number of people coming to see us has increased since the first egg hatched on Saturday," he said.
"It's great to meet so many people who are interested in seeing the birds. People come to find out what is happening and if any more have hatched."
It is hoped the other two eggs will hatch over the next few days.
