The 2008 annual meeting of Worcester Anglo Hellenic Club was held at Worcester Golf and Country Club on Thursday, June 26.

After a brief report of the year’s events from the chairman, David Leggott, thanks were given to the existing committee for their hard work and support.

With the exception of past chairman, Kate Rankine, the committee was re-elected en bloc. Two new members were elected to the committee: Margaret Rider and Malcolm Delingpole.

In a review of the past year, the treasurer Liz Johnson showed the club to be in a fine financial state, before passing the responsibility to Pat Bosworth, with the thanks of the members for her hard work.

Loretta Proctor volunteered to give assistance to Shelagh Peters in the newsletter department.

As we have the necessary equipment to project most images we felt that we could offer them to other like-minded clubs in the city. It was thought that we could try to work closer with the Kefi Club, possibly in the area of a joint wine tasting and other events.

The annual rounded off with members putting ideas for interesting speakers, and increasing membership. After a brief break for the chairman to win the raffle, we divided into teams for a most enjoyable and challenging Greek theme quiz hosted by John Fryer.
