A FORMER drug addict has appeared in court and admitted seven separate offences.
Vincent Best pleaded guilty to theft from a car, two counts of fraud, obstructing a police officer, attempted fraud, handling stolen goods and possessing heroin, when he appeared at the city’s magistrates court on Tuesday.
The court was told 28-year-old Best committed the offences to fund a heroin addiction.
The first offences happened in April this year when Best, of Selborne Road, Barbourne, Worcester, sold a digital camera which had been stolen during a burglary.
When police searched his car they found a wrap of heroin.
In May this year he broke into a parked car and stole bags of shopping. He then went to the shops and tried to get refunds for the stolen goods using the receipts, which were still in the bags.
The next day he was stopped by police and gave a false name.
Sarah Brady, defending, said Best had been drug free, but at the time of the offences was taking drugs after getting back together with his heroin addict ex-partner.
She added he is no longer in the relationship and is now drug-free.
Best will appear back before the court on Wednesday, September 17, for sentence.
