FOR the second consecutive year, women have placed Worcester-based npower in the top 50 companies they would choose to work for.
The annual list is published by Aurora, the business women’s diversity network, in conjunction with The Times.
Nick Smith, npower’s head of diversity and inclusion, said: “Forty per cent of npower’s total workforce are women, with 27 women in senior management roles and 1,025 in management and team leader roles. We are delighted to be in the Top 50. It’s fantastic recognition of our work at all levels of the organisation to ensure equal opportunities.
“Job satisfaction is no longer based solely on location and money; other factors are important when researching and comparing organisations, particularly in the minds of women.”
To make it into the Top 50, organisations had to prove themselves in five key areas: the opportunities they provide women; having progressive, transparent cultures; an ability to celebrate diversity; an eagerness to embrace new technology to facilitate work-life balance, and a commitment to being socially responsible.
