A WOMAN had to be airlifted to hospital after receiving life-threatening injuries in two-car crash on a busy country road.
She was driving towards Tenbury Wells in a Vauxhall Corsa along the A456 near Mamble when her vehicle was involved in an accident with another vehicle coming in the opposite direction at about 2.25pm, yesterday.
She was taken by air ambulance to Worcestershire Royal Hospital’s A&E department with life-threatening injuries.
Her condition is stable according to police.
The other car involved was a blue Kia Magentis heading towards Clows Top.
Paramedics treated the male driver and his woman passenger who were later taken to the Worcester hospital.
He was released after observation, but the passenger was transferred to the Alexandra Hospital, in Redditch, with non-life-threatening injuries where she is “doing well and responding to treatment,” according to police.
Crews from four fire stations were called in to free the crash victims.
A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We’d like to remind people to take care on the county’s roads.”
