MORE than £3,000 has been raised by parents from Worcester by trekking up three different mountains.
A group of mums and dads, whose children attend St George’s Catholic Primary School, decided to try the Three Peaks Challenge in September.
Completing the walk in two days up Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, the 11 keen walkers raised £3,337 for Acorns Children’s Hospice and the school. Headteacher Mike Painter said: “It was a fabulous challenge and we completed it in 23 hours.”
Two cheques were presented to the beneficiaries in a special gathering at the school.
Sophie James, community fund-raiser at Acorns, said: “The trekkers have been fantastic.”
