WE met for a meal at the Retreat for our January meeting. Fortunately the snow had cleared and it wasn’t even raining.

We wished each other a happy new year as most of us had not seen each other since Christmas. We all chose different meals, some finishing with sweets, others just having a cup of tea, but we all thoroughly enjoyed the convivial company combined with a lot of talking.

There was no official business, although we had received an invitation to Whittington WI’s February meeting, so names had to be taken of those wishing to attend.

Newsletters were also distributed.

We had been busy with many visitors to our December meeting so we chose this time to each put a gift in Santa’s sack and at the end of the meal, each taking out one gift. It was surprising what a varied selection there was.

We meet as usual this month at Whittington Village Hall on Tuesday, February 16, at 7.30pm when we are having a cookery demonstration by Sarah Dover.

New members and visitors will be given a very warm welcome.
