POLICE in Kempsey have had a rise in calls about antisocial behaviour but parish councillors want to see more officers on the beat.
Police community support officer Colin Davies said there had been a rise in telephone calls over the last month when he addressed a meeting of Kempsey Parish Council on Monday.
He said: “We want to try and nip it in the bud now. We have been dealing with people through the antisocial behaviour process.”
Parish councillor Dave Harrison said he wanted to see more police officers walking around the village as they had in a successful enterprise last year.
CSO Davies said: “We plan to walk around Kempsey at least once or twice a week. We have not been doing that as much as we have done in the past.
"That’s a fair point.”
