THIS amazing Worcester woman certainly rules the roost at her care home – despite recently celebrating her 101st birthday.
Nell Halestrap, who celebrated her birthday on Friday, March 12, now lives at Cranham Care Home in Cranham Drive, Warndon.
Mrs Halestrap, who used to live in Topham Avenue, Warndon, has a daughter, Rita, two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Staff at the home said Mrs Halestrap, a retired cook, is still very independent for her age and likes to do as much as she can for herself.
She enjoys going to church, and still goes regularly at the home.
She has impeccable standards and keeps the staff very busy ensuring that they do not fall below them.
She likes to see things done correctly and is not afraid to say so.
Mrs Halestrap has many amazing memories of her life and career, including producing large Christmas puddings in a bath when she worked as a cook.
