A VAN driver from Worcester has died after being involved in a motorway smash with a lorry.
Two Spanish men have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after the accident on the A417 near the M50 junction between Staunton, Gloucestershire, and Ledbury, Herefordshire.
The incident happened at 10.45pm yesterday and involved a white Scania lorry from Spain and a red Mercedes van driven by the Worcester man.
He was pronounced dead at the scene A Gloucestershire police spokesman said: "Paramedics took the driver and passenger of the Scania lorry to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries.
"The two men, a 53-year-old man and a 38-year-old man, both from Spain, were then arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They are currently being questioned by police.
"Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary on 0845 090 1234 quoting incident 458 of March 15."
Police closed the road until 8.30am today to carry out a full investigation at the scene.
Gloucestershire coroner Alan Crickmore has been informed.
