Lucky pair had a winning time

Competitions from in your Worcester News proved to be real winners with two Worcester Warrior fans.

Steve Martin, aged 45, of Warndon, Worcester, won the Glasshouse competition to dine at the restaurant in Sidbury with three friends and three of the Warriors squad - full back and wing Chris Pennell, lock Will Bowley and prop Olivier Sourgens on Tuesday, March 2.

He said: “It was a fantastic evening. The players really entered into the spirit of the evening and enjoyed a relaxed evening with us.

“Steve Lloyd, the Glasshouse’s general manager, was a wonderful host and welcomed us superbly with a great atmosphere and delicious food and drink up in the glass box overlooking the Cathedral.

“We had a great evening chatting about rugby. A French colleague also came with us so he and Olivier Sourgens chatted away all night in their native tongue.”

Meanwhile, our second winner, Lewis Austin, aged 44, of Perdiswell, Worcester, was taken to Twickenham on the FragranceMad - the team’s official sponsor - fun bus to see the Warriors play against Harlequins on Saturday, March 6.

Mr Austin and his guests joined the FragranceMad party who enjoyed ‘gold’ tickets at the Twickenham Stoop as well as full hospitality and the chance to meet the Warriors’ first team after the match.

He said: “It was a great prize and an excellent day out.

"I took my brother-in-law Wayne with me and we were very well looked after by the fragranceMad.com party who were great hosts.

“We had a fantastic lunch and the whole occasion was most enjoyable.”
