PEOPLE had to be evacuated from their homes and roads were closed as fire crews tackled a major blaze at a building in Bromsgrove.
Fire crews were called to a major fire at Spa Cars in Birmingham Road, Bromsgrove, at around 5.15pm.
West Mercia Police said the road closures and evacuations were needed because of suspected gas cylinders in the area.
At the height of the blaze there were eight fire engines there, including crews from Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Redditch.
The fire is now out but one fire engine is still at the scene as Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service continue to monitor the situation.
The cause of the fire in the 40 metre by 20 metre building is still being investigated.
