City crash death man named

A VAN driver from Worcester who died after his van was in collision with a lorry has been named.

Michael Bryan, aged 56, of Penhill Crescent, Dines Green, died after the van he was travelling in was involved in an accident on the A417 near the M50 junction between Staunton, Gloucestershire, and Ledbury, Herefordshire on Monday.

The incident happened at 10.45pm and involved a white Scania lorry from Spain and a red Mercedes van driven by the Worcester man.

The 56-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two Spanish men were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after the incident. One was released without charge.

An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned on Friday by Gloucestershire coroner Alan Crickmore.

• A Spanish man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

He appeared at Stroud Magistrates Court last Wednesday and will have his cause heard at Gloucester Crown Court on Wednesday this week.
