CANCER survivor Kate Christodoulou has sent out a rallying call to the people of Worcestershire: “Liberate your loft!”
Mrs Christodoulou, previously Catherine Wilce, posed outside the Cancer Research UK shop on The Cross, Worcester, to show what goodies she found during a clear-out of her own attic.
All the items, including ornaments, pictures and DVDs, have now been donated to the shop.
Mrs Christodoulou, aged 52, of Powick, near Worcester, was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2009. She underwent chemotherapy and a mastectomy at Worcester Royal Hospital, followed by radiotherapy at Cheltenham General Hospital, finishing treatment in May this year.
She is now getting her life back to normal and recently took part in Cancer Research UK’s Worcester Race for Life.
She has recently returned to work part-time at Dolphin Computer Access.
She said: “Everyone has items stashed in their loft that they no longer want or use. But they may be incredibly useful or in demand by someone else.
“Shops like this one help fund the pioneering work of Cancer Research UK scientists, so it is vital they have a constant new supply of stock to sell.
“I’d urge everyone to take an hour or so to check out what is under their own roofs. It’s amazing what you can find.”
