THE Princess Royal is to visit a family-run cider and perry maker in Herefordshire this month.
Westons Cider will be welcoming Princess Anne to its mill in Much Marcle on Monday, September 13.
The princess will arrive at 3pm to open the cider maker’s heritage centre, a new addition to the popular visitor centre.
Helen Thomas, managing director at Westons, said: “We are absolutely delighted that the Princess Royal has chosen to visit us during her visit to the county, particularly as this year we are celebrating our 130th anniversary.
“In addition to opening our new heritage centre, we will be introducing her to some of our staff and suppliers and taking her on a tour of the mill.” During the visit, the princess will also meet children at Much Marcle Primary School who have been invited to take part in the celebrations.
Her royal highness will also launch the local branch of the Riding for the Disabled Association’s (RDA) rideability campaign, aimed at putting emphasis on people’s ability, not disability.
She will also stop off at Hereford Citizens Advice Bureau in St Owen Street and the Leadership Trust at Weston-under-Penyard.
The visit comes during a busy period for the princess, who recently celebrated her 60th birthday.
