BUDDING chefs are being urged to reveal their talents in a champion apple pie contest.
The Broomfield family is celebrating growing fruit for 100 years with a Worcestershire Apple Pie contest at their farm shop at Holt Heath, near Worcester. The contest is for amateurs only and 60 pies will be accepted for judging in three categories.
Cooks will be going head to head to win best in show, best apple pie and most unique pie. The pies must be made with fresh Broomfield apples.
The pies will be on display then cut and sold in aid of Worcester’s St Richard’s Hospice.
Entry forms must be completed by Friday, October 22, with the judging taking place on Sunday, October 24.
