X Factor hopeful Cher Lloyd has revealed that viewers are in for a shock on tonight’s show.

Until now, the 17-year-old’s performances have heavily featured her favourite rap music – but tonight, she is promising to surprise her fans and critics alike.

“This week is going to be a massive shock and I hope everyone is prepared for it,” she said.

“Everyone is used to me being a bad girl rapper, but I’m going to twist it up a bit and prove to the people who haven’t liked me as much as my supporters that I’m an alright singer.”

But the former Dyson Perrins High School pupil, who lives with her parents in Malvern, revealed that she was “very, very nervous” about tonight’s live performance on the ITV1 show.

She said: “It’s going to be the hardest one I have done so far.

“But if I do my best and I have to go home, then I know I have done my best and I have done myself justice.”

Speaking to the official X Factor website, Cher told her fans that the three things she could not live without were “pork pies, her nan and her ipod”.

She also said she did not have a boyfriend at the moment as she was “focused” on her singing.

Tonight’s show will be shown on ITV 1 at 8pm.

  • Among the fans cheering Cher on tonight will be the Malvern stage school where she trained.

Cher attended Malvern Stagecoach Theatre Arts, based at Dyson Perrins High School, for 18 months when she was 13.

Principal Joanna McFarlane said that even then, she stood out. “You could tell from an early age she had something,” said Miss McFarlane.

“She was always very good at singing and really good at dancing and she always put her own spin on things.

“She was so original, she always dressed originally and had her own style.”

And Miss McFarlane said she had no doubt that Cher would silence her critics when they heard her sing tonight.

She said: “Cher was always a really good singer, she’ll be fine. Singing was always her main thing, it’s what she was good at.

“It’s quite a lot pressure on someone that young, but she will be fantastic. She’ll show people what she can do and silence those critics.”

Malvern Stagecoach runs every Saturday from 10am to 1pm. For details, call Miss McFarlane on 01452 712966.

It trains pupils in musical theatre, singing and dancing and taught basic techniques.
