The coalition is committed to increasing the use of mediation as quicker, cheaper, and less stressful than contested court proceedings and believes the costs of routine divorce, including disputes about the arrangements for children, should no longer be met by the taxpayer.

The reality is that if you are a dad in this country, and even if you are married, your wife/partner could take your children away, pretty much prevent you seeing them, make sure you have zero influence on their daily lives and you can do nothing about it. This state of affairs is obscene, barbaric and cruel. I can only hope that one day someone in power might wake up what is happening and we adopt the same system as Denmark - automatic joint custody of children when couples separate. Until that happens children will continue being deprived of loving parents and many fathers will continue having their lives destroyed.
