Mediation is benefit to divorce (From Worcester News)

Family law in England and Wales is a mess, merely trying to force people into mediation is like putting a sticking plaster on someone who has just had both legs blown off. The law needs to change, starting with giving fathers equal rights to mothers in relation to their children. Men and women have equal rights in every area of law except when it comes to children. Thousands of fathers have to go to court every year, just so they can have 'contact' with their own children because of a legal system that gives them little in the way of automatic rights.
The reality is that if you are a dad in this country, and even if you are married, your wife/partner could take your children away, pretty much prevent you seeing them, make sure you have zero influence on their daily lives and you can do nothing about it. This state of affairs is obscene, barbaric and cruel. I can only hope that one day someone in power might wake up what is happening and we adopt the same system as Denmark - automatic joint custody of children when couples separate. Until that happens children will continue being deprived of loving parents and many fathers will continue having their lives destroyed.
