Gorilla porn pervert banned from web
11:40am Monday 11th July 2011 in News
A WORCESTER man who downloaded child and animal pornography has been banned from using the internet without police approval.
Kristoffer Round claimed that he was drunk when he obtained the unlawful images “for a laugh”.
Round, aged 30, of Treacle Nook, Warndon Villages, admitted downloading five indecent photographs of children, only one of which featured nudity.
He also admitted possessing an extreme pornographic image portraying sex acts with animals - including a gorilla.
He was given a three-year community order and told to complete a sex offender group programme and also to undertake alcohol treatment.
A sexual offences prevention order was made for five years and he must also sign on the sex offenders register for the same time.
The offences came to light when his ex-partner contacted the police after seeing concerning images on his computer, said Alex Warren, prosecuting at Worcester Crown Court.
Police recovered his iPod when he was arrested on Monday, October 4, last year and also seized his laptop computer which he had pawned at Cash Converters.
They found he had accessed Eastern European websites featuring child and animal pornography.
There were 42 images showing a sexual interest in children but only five were unlawful.
Ruth Edwards, who represented Round when he appeared at magistrates court, said he found the images while browsing adult porn sites.
Judge Christopher Plunkett said the pre-sentence report indicated Round had realised the error of his ways.
Although some might think that custody was justified it was in the public interest to put him under the supervision of the probation service, he said.
He directed that Round should be banned for five years from having equipment capable of accessing the internet unless he notifies the police.
