A SINGLE mum from Droitwich says she is over the moon after a generous company replaced a stolen pushchair.
Lydia Knight, aged 31, of Drovers Green, was virtually housebound after thieves stole the pushchair from outside her home at the start of December.
The double-seat pushchair was essential for her to transport her daughter Ruby, who will be three years old in March, and son Indi, who is one.
Ruby has special needs and has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
This means that her mother cannot let her walk, except over short distances, because she is likely to run off.
She said: “She has to go in the pushchair and I can’t carry Indi, because he’s so big.”
She chose the pushchair, a Baby Jogger City Select tandem model, but because it costs about £700, she could not afford to replace it after the theft.
But when the Worcester News reported the theft, it was seen online by the US-based firm, which in turn alerted Kooltrade Ltd, a Manchester firm which imports Baby Jogger products to the UK.
Edward Hunter, a director of Kooltrade, said: “We read about what happened to Lydia, and we thought it was so tragic, especially since it was so close to Christmas, that we had to do something.”
The Worcester News put Kooltrade in touch with Miss Knight, and the firm has now delivered a brand new Baby Jogger.
She said: “It has really saved my life.
“I was virtually housebound until it arrived and I am so very grateful to Kooltrade for their generosity. It has made a real difference.”
