A GROUP of intrepid adventurers handed over a cheque for £2,000 to Help for Heroes at a special event at the end of an extreme off-road expedition.
The Napier Trail Expedition, organised by Malvern-based Trailquest, was a 1,600km motorcycle ride in Ethiopia following the route of one of the most dramatic rescue missions ever attempted by the British army – a bid to rescue a group of hostages who were being held by King Tewdros II in 1868.
Riders, guests and sponsors gathered at Trailquest’s Malvern headquarters to hand over the money.
Trailquest director Richard Jeynes said: “We are delighted to have been able to contribute so much to this very worthwhile cause.
“Many of the Trailquest team are ex-military and the cause is something that we are very happy to support.”
