Dress up or dress down – but part with a pound

A WORCESTERSHIRE hospice is urging people to open their wallets to take part in its Part With a Pound day.

Fund-raisers from St Richard’s Hospice hope businesses, clubs and schools will make Friday, March 9, a day to remember by dressing up, dressing down or simply donating £1 to the charity.

Rachel Jones, fund-raiser at St Richard’s, said: “It’s entirely up to people what they would like to do for their £1 – it may be asking customers to donate, wearing themed clothing, eating cake, or wearing a funky tie.

"Just £1 on one day could make a huge difference to people with life threatening illnesses.”

One of the first organisations to pledge its support is The Malvern, a hotel, spa, healthclub and restaurant in Grovewood Road, Malvern.

Staff will be entered into a raffle to win an extra day’s holiday and customers will have the chance to win a facial.
