PLANS for 11 new homes in Tibberton, near Worcester, have been refused by council planners.

The outline application by Peter Meadowcroft proposed 11 houses, four of which were affordable, on land at the rear and including Kenosha on Foredraught Lane, Tibberton. David Hall, of Foredraught Lane, spoke in opposition to the application.

He asked the committee to consider three further matters including the inadequate soakaway, unacceptable access and the close proximity of the houses. Speaking in support of the proposals, Martyn Cole said they had received help from the planners but had been given two late objection reasons and given no chance to respond.

They said that there was another proposal which would change the entrance to the site, a major concern listed by officers.

Councillor Margaret Rowley said: “This is one of those applications that was put forward by officers for consideration on the development plan. It’s not so much that the site floods but the water running off the site may flood elsewhere.”

Wychavon District Council Planning Committee unanimously refused the application on the basis of potential flooding risk and concerns about the entry to the site.
