TIPPLES, brews, and beverages of every stripe will be flowing at the Worcester beer festival, with organisers hoping for a bumper turnout.

With the English summer – complete with pouring rain – well in hand, the 13th Worcester Camra Beer, Cider and Perry Festival is now just a few weeks away, with gates opening on Thursday, August 16.

Organisers have now revealed the long-awaited beer list, which includes a beer called Absolution and the more exotic Hot Dog Chilli Stout. The three-day celebration of everything fermented, from the cloudy and amber to the dark and muddy, is running from 5pm, on the Thursday, with live music, food, and plenty of company.

It is predicted that more than 13,000 people will have attended by the time last orders are called at the Pitchcroft venue on Saturday night.

A list of the more than 200 real ales, 100 ciders and perries and fruit and grape wines is available in full on the event website.

There will be something for everybody, from the award-winning 2.5 per cent (ABV) Brentwood, which is brown in colour with tropical citrus flavours, to the eye-catching 10.5 per cent Baltic Trader Imperial Stout, brewed by Green Jack.

Other interesting beers include Box Steam’s Piston Broke, Peerless’ Jinja Ninja, Poachers’ Trout Tickler and Potbelly’ Crazy Daze.

Organiser Bill Ottaway said: “With more than 200 thirst-quenching ales from near and far, all with different flavours including honey, orange, chocolate, ginger, lemon, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, cherry and vanilla, there should be something to satisfy everybody’s taste.

“And don’t forget the ciders, perries and fruit wines.”

Music fans will be well served with acts including blues group Stomp and Holler, the current line-up of the Move, and musical performer and funnyman Mickey the Molecatcher.

fundamental error at the festival .
Buy your beer/cider in half pints or you will be too overwhelmed to sample all the offerings !
